Code of Conduct & Media Policy
Sprint & Spawn is committed to providing a safe, respectful, collaborative, and inclusive environment for young creators under 18, educators, mentors, and parents.
1. Mutual Respect & Inclusion (SOP Section 10)
Harassment, offensive behavior, discrimination based on gender, identity, disability, race, religion, or background is strictly prohibited and grounds for immediate disqualification and venue removal.
All participants must treat fellow builders, organizing committee members, mentors, judges, and volunteers with the highest level of technical camaraderie and courtesy.
2. Photography, Videography & Media Permissions
By registering and participating in Sprint & Spawn 2026, participants, guardians, and affiliated schools grant permission to the organizing committee and authorized media partners to:
- Capture official event photographs, video recordings, live demonstration builds, and winner ceremonies during the 12-hour hackathon.
- Publish high-resolution photo galleries and recap videos for official event archives, website documentation, partner publications, and press releases.
- Feature project names, team leader names, school affiliations, and working demo captures in winner announcements and promotional recaps.
*All media is captured in full accordance with under-18 child safety protocols and school standards.
3. Academic & Technical Integrity (SOP Section 11)
All project development must occur strictly within the 12-hour hackathon window (8:00 AM – 8:00 PM, 6 September 2026). Pre-built applications, cloned templates claimed as original work, or undisclosed external assistance are strictly prohibited.
Public open-source libraries and APIs are welcomed when declared. AI-assisted generation tools may be used as development aids, but original architecture and code ownership must be demonstrated during judging.
4. Under-18 Safety & Venue Rules (SOP Section 12)
Adult & School Supervision
Strict on-ground supervision maintained by educators and organizers.
Emergency Contact Readiness
Immediate emergency contact access and trained staff on-site.
Safe Venue Movement
Clear pathways, security checkpoints, and guided movement within the campus.
Responsible Facilities
Dedicated power stations, high-speed connectivity, and monitored computer labs.
